ICU Medical Team

A multidisciplinary team consisting of physicians, nurses, therapists, case managers and chaplains provide care to all patients in the Intensive Care Unit. The primary care physician coordinates these services.

Visiting Your Friend or Family Member

Visits from family members and caring friends can be good for patients and may help speed the recovery process. The Sierra Providence East Medical Center visiting policy is designed to provide a safe, secure and welcome environment for families and friends of patients.

Visitors are encouraged to come to the medical center between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Visitors will be permitted at other hours, depending on the circumstances, as long as they respect the need for all patients to rest in a quiet environment.    Critical care areas may request specific restriction on visitation based upon the patient’s need and plan of care and for protection of all patient rights. Generally, children under the age of 12 years are not encouraged to visit in the medical center. The medical center reserves the right to control the number of visitors and the length of time they may stay.  Separate waiting rooms for families of patients are located throughout the medical center and our receptionist or guest services representative will be more than happy to assist you.

Visiting Information

Gifts and flowers are not allowed in the ICU due to limited space; however, balloons and cards are welcome.

Patient Updates

If a patient requires admission to the ICU, the patient’s status is automatically critical. Calls to the Information Desk will provide you with more information. One designated family member may call directly into the ICU for information; however, limited information is given over the phone. We suggest that distant relatives and friends contact the immediate family for patient information
