January 4, 2007

Sierra Providence Health Network (SPHN) and the YWCA of the El Paso Del Norte Region are pleased to announce that they will collaborate in their efforts to promote Health and Wellness in El Paso.

In conjunction with this announcement the YWCA will have an open house at the Shirley Leavell Branch located at 10712 Sam Snead on January 6th. Please join us as the YWCA assumes the management of the eastside YWCA Fitness Center thus, giving access to all members. SPHN will participate in the health fair from 10 a.m. – 1p.m. with glucose and cholesterol screenings. A formal announcement with additional details of the partnership will be made at 10:30 a.m.

Both organizations believe that through this partnership they will be able to improve their commitment to the health of El Pasoans by making it easier for people to access information and health programs.

“Both entities have a long standing presence in El Paso, making this a natural progression to improve the quality of life for the residents in the Borderplex,” said John Harris, President and CEO of Sierra Providence Health Network.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled about formalizing our partnership. Sierra Providence Health
Network has been a long-time supporter of the YWCA and its services to improve the wellness of teens, adults and seniors in our region,” stated Dr. Sandra Braham, CEO of the YWCA El Paso del Norte Region.
