Breast Care
Improved images and more comfortable experience are available for women seeking mammograms at SPHN. We are committed to bringing some of the latest innovations in healthcare to El Paso such as digital mammography and advanced diagnostic technology. Along with digital mammography that provides clearer images in less time, Sierra Providence also offers the R2 Imagechecker which acts as a second pair of eyes for radiologists. We are also helping ensure that the patient is comfortable during testing by offering the Mammopad throughout our network. As a result, it helps reduce pain and discomfort.

TotalCare
As the name implies, TotalCare has reached new levels of patient care while meeting the demands for quality and expediency that physicians and patients expect. Located on El Paso’s Westside (601 Sunland Park Drive), TotalCare has successfully managed to take some of the most technologically advanced imaging services available and massage them into a spa-like atmosphere that transcends traditional healthcare delivery.

Advanced Technology
The latest technical equipment that you can find at some of our facilities includes:

• GE Full Field Digital Mammography System – Digital images have a higher contrast and density, designed to give the radiologist clearer images which helps with a more accurate diagnosis.
  
• R2 Image Checker – A computer assisted detection system. This system digitizes a mammogram and functions as a double-checking system for radiologists. It highlights areas that the radiologists need to pay special attention to. 
  
• MRI Breast Coil – The 0.7 Tesla open MRI has the ability to deliver high quality images to look for occult breast cancer, and to assist with detecting breast cancer in women with breast implants or with suspected multiple or bilateral cancers.
  
• SUROS Vacuum Core Biopsy System – This system allows the physicians to extract a larger sample of breast tissue for diagnosis utilizing smaller needles, therefore performing a minimally invasive biopsy rather than an extensive open surgical biopsy.
  
• Voice Recognition Technology – Technology designed to enable radiologists to report to the referring physician within eight to 24 hours. On the average reports are turned around to the referring physician, through the auto-fax feature, within 6-8 hours of completion of procedure.

We also offer other services such as:
Mammography, Bone Densitometry, EKG, Blood Draws, Fluoroscopy, X-Rays, CAT Scan, Open MRI, Ultrasound, Stereotactic and Ultrasound guided biopsies at most of our facilities.
