A Closer Look Inside For Your Digestive Health
Digestive diseases can be painful - sometimes even embarrassing. If over-the-counter remedies no longer seem to help with symptoms such as heartburn or diarrhea, it may be time to take a look inside.

Many digestive problems that once meant a hospital stay may now be diagnosed and treated on an outpatient basis, possibly without surgery. At Providence Digestive Disease Center, we offer a wide range of diagnostic, treatment, educational and support options.

If you suffer from any of the following symptoms, it may be time to call the Digestive Disease Center:

  • Abdominal pain (even after gall bladder removal)
  • Difficulty with swallowing
  • Excessive diarrhea
  • Heartburn
  • Lack of response to non-prescription stomach medicine
  • Ongoing constipation
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Unexpected weight loss
  • Yellowing of the skin and of the whites of the eyes

We offer treatment for conditions such as:
  • Colitis
  • Crohn's Disease
  • Hepatitis
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Ostomies
  • Polyps
  • Ulcers
  • Diseases of the gall bladder, liver and pancreas

Other services offered at the Digestive Disease Center include:

  • Testing for helicobacter, the bacteria that causes ulcers
  • Esophageal dilation - a 20-minute procedure which may help patients with swallowing
  • Outpatient polyp detection and removal
  • Nutritional counseling and support
  • Support groups for patients with Crohn's Disease and Colitis
  • Colorectal screenings

Digestive Disease Center services require a physician's order. Ask your doctor, then ask for the Digestive Disease Center at Providence.

The Center is located on the Lower level, Hilton Tower of Providence Memorial Hospital. For more information call, (915) 577-7160
