Children’s Hospital at Providence Bids Farewell to AUSA Community Partner
The December Children’s Hospital advisory board meeting marked the official farewell to The Children’s Hospital at Providence’s AUSA guardian partner the 5/1 AD, BSB Battalion. The 5/1 Brigade cased their colors this past November as their mission for testing Army equipment was transferred to another Brigade.
Over the past two years our relationship with the BSB has grown from a community partnership to a true and lasting friendship. The leadership, Soldiers and Family members of the BSB have participated in numerous Children’s Hospital events always showing up in force and ready to make a difference in the community and the lives of the children that we are honored to care for.
Helping to plan and support two “Touch a Tank, Thank a Soldier” events in the Children’s Hospital parking lot were definitely two of the highlights of our partnership and friendship. The enthusiasm, professionalism and community spirit that the BSB has shown will forever be remembered by the children and the hospital employees whose lives they have touched.
