SPEMC & El Dorado High School Food Drive
Sierra Providence East Medical Center (SPEMC) and El Dorado High School (EDHS) recently teamed up for an East Community food drive to assist Soldiers and their Families during the holiday season. EDHS Student Council members canvassed some 600 plus area homes for food donations October 19, 2010. In addition to hundreds of homes giving generously, students from the school’s various organizations (cheerleading, athletics, academics and fine arts) contributed case upon case of canned food or nonperishable items. Their efforts were partnered with staff members from SPEMC for a total of some 600 plus items in total donated to the ASYMCA’s Junior Enlisted Food Locker. This food drive is part of the annual efforts completed by SPEMC for the ongoing effort know as project “ Operation Open Arms” supported citywide for the past three years by Sierra Providence Health Network.
