Operation Open Arms Food Drive 2009

Sierra Providence Health Network was honored once again to participate in the ASYMCA Holiday food drive. This year's Operation Open Arms was hosted by Sierra Medical Center. This was a joint effort spear headed by SPHN employees and our community partners Albertson’s, KLAQ-radio, Jack In The Box, Rocky Mountain Mortgage, Texas Gas Service, AT&T, AUSA, 5/1 AD, 3/43 ADA, and MayFlower moving.  On Thursday, the 19th of November, more than 3000 pounds of canned goods and nonperishable items were delivered to Fort Bliss in a Stagecoach Cartage and Distribution trailer. In addition, a check for $7000 was presented to the ASYMCA at the opening ceremony for the big Thanksgiving Basket Give Away, which was hosted at Milam Gym on November the 20th. Matt Caldwell, the COO of Sierra was on hand to help present the check and to say a few words about the efforts of our employees and our community partners in helping insure that over 1300 families on Fort Bliss received a little help and gratitude from SPHN and the El Paso Community.
