Touch a Tank, Thank a Soldier
May 1st, 2010 marked the 2nd annual Touch a Tank, Thank a Soldier event at the Childrens Hospital at Providence. LTC Kathy Shear and the soldiers of the 5/1 AD, BSB provided a day of smiles and adventure for the children hospitalized at Providence. Many of these children are hospitalized for long periods of time and are unable to get out and enjoy a day in our community much less spend a day at Fort Bliss with soldiers. There were tanks to crawl on, cranes to hang from and soldiers with smiles to provide these youngest of patients with the distraction of fun and interaction with some of America's heroes.
