Guidance and Support During Your Time of Need
For many people, a hospital stay can be a time of stress and uncertainty. The Spiritual Care department at Sierra Providence Health Network is an expression of our commitment to treat the whole person (mind, body and spirit) with excellence in patient care. We provide patients and their loved ones with spiritual guidance and emotional support during their time of need.
Our Spiritual Care department consists of:
- Chaplains who are ordained, hospital trained clergy on staff who minister in an unbiased manner to patients, their families, or employees who may request spiritual care, no matter what their faith or beliefs. The chaplains serve as resources in the crisis of hospitalization by being available to listen and reflect with persons on their thoughts, feelings, and personal faith.
- Volunteer Spiritual Caregivers who have a deep personal faith and have undergone an extensive training program in hospital ministry.
Upon request, prayers, sacraments and other resources of a patient's individual faith can be made available to help patients find strength during their hospital stay and recovery. The Spiritual Care department can also arrange visits for patients who request to see a chaplain of their own personal faith.
To arrange a chaplain visit, you may either let your attending nurse know or call the Spiritual Care department directly at (915) 577-6651, Monday - Friday; 8 am - 5 pm or at (915) 577-6011, after regular business hours and on weekends.
