Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE)
Specialized Care For Older Adults Older adults with complex medical problems often need specialized care that they cannot receive from their caregiver or at a nursing home. When these patients require hospitalization, it often impacts their overall health and well-being further complicating an already delicate situation.
The Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) Unit at Providence Memorial Hospital is sensitive to the needs of older patients and focuses on maintaining their health, independence and dignity in comfortable surroundings.
Our goals are to:
- Decrease the length of a hospital stay
- Minimize the psychological impact of hospitalization
- Reduce the development of wounds, infections and other complications
- Maintain and improve the patient's health
We strive to provide a safe, caring and comfortable environment where you or your loved one can maintain the highest level of functionability - mentally and physically. For more information on acute care for the elderly, call (915) 577-SPHN (7746).
